MAK @ GRAN TURISMO: DIEGO DI FABIO

Diego Di Fabio from Pesaro wins the GT Cup Class at Mugello
2nd round of the Gran Turismo Endurance Championship

Prestigious victory for Diego Di Fabio, the 21 year old driver from Pesaro and Mak Wheels driver in the second round of the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship held at the Mugello circuit. Diego dominated the ‘GT Cup’ category in the Lamborghini Huracan St Evo 2 of the ‘DL Racing Team’. The Pesaro-based driver shared the three-hour race with Portugal’s Rodrigo Testa and Egypt’s Ibrhaim BadawI, the three of them all fast and experienced despite their young age, and always maintained the lead in their turns.

Summoned at the last moment by the ‘DL Racing’ team, which has been following the driver from Pesaro with interest for some time, having only got to know the Sant’Agata Bolognese super car on Friday, Di Fabio immediately distinguished himself by taking pole position on Saturday. A prestigious victory obtained with determination and talent for a winning return to the Endurance Championship, in which Di Fabio had won the Italian Category Title in 2022.

A full season in 2024 for the driver from Pesaro, which sees him involved on several fronts: the other Gran Turismo Championship, the ‘Sprint’ one, with the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo, in which he took pole position in the Misano race last May, and author, as in the Imola appointment, of two exciting comebacks in the race.

Another presence in the Trofeo ‘Lotus Cup Europa’, in which Diego with the Lotus Elise of the ‘Team Quasar’, obtained a victory and a second place in the French round at Magny Cours, and a second place at the Belgian circuit of Spa, considered the ‘university’ of driving. A binomial Di Fabio – Mak Wheels, both leaders in their fields, destined to give and give us other satisfactions.
