Diego Di Fabio, the young driver from Pesaro sponsored by MAK WHEELS, takes the throne of the Italian Gran Turismo GT Sprint Championship « GT4 AM » class!
A weekend of satisfactions the one just passed at the Mugello circuit: the eighteen years old Diego, with two exciting races paired with Luca Magnoni, has brought to the success the powerful Mercedes « GT4 » cared by Nova Race Team, Customer for Italy of the « three-pointed star », also thanks to the precious advices of Christian Pescatori former Audi official driver and mentor of the young driver from Pesaro. A season to be framed for Di Fabio who, in his third year of racing, with the recent triumph, expands his palmares of the second Italian title: the first obtained at the debut in 2019 in the Challenge Mini LITE class.
The compliments of the Mercedes-AMG Racing Team were also punctual:
In Race 1, after having made his intentions clear since the qualifying session by taking the category pole, Di Fabio got off to a good start on Saturday afternoon despite the carom of some competitors at the first corner (there were 42 cars at Mugello). He was able to untangle himself with skill, but could not avoid a small touch that damaged the front bumper of his Mercedes: taking advantage of the Safety Car regime, he checked the lightness of the damage and restarted in second position without unnecessary brawls and taking advantage of the difficulties of his direct opponents for the title. Halfway through the 50 minutes + 1 lap of the race, Diego handed the Mercedes over to Magnoni who skilfully drove it to the end of the race, maintaining his position and winning the title of champions!
In Race 2 held Sunday, without the shadow of mathematical calculations, Diego was unleashed inanellando an incredible series of record laps, for a second round bombastic and full of overtaking chilling, which led him on the top step of the podium, legitimizing with this victory the title! Crystal clear result that determines the passage of Di Fabio from promise to certainty: not everyone at only 18 years old.
A special thanks to Nova Race Team that has provided a car up to expectations, in a team where the watchword is professionalism and experience, which also extends to all the leading companies that have supported the young driver with passion and enthusiasm in the victorious ride to the title: including MAK WHEELS, particularly proud of a driver already winning and with a promising future!
Great satisfaction of father Gianluca, owner of the « GDF » Gianluca Di Fabio Sport & Safe Driving School that, besides transmitting his passion to his son, supports him with great sacrifices in his bright career full of expectations and hopes for the future!
